I was once called a “latter day Sherlock Holmes of pornography”, by someone who would probably like to remain anonymous, on account of my affection for 1970s British sex comedies, and attempts to research the genre, as well as other forms of second rate British cinema. I’ve been writing about films on the IMDB for a while now (under the gavcrimson name)

In my opinion you still are the latter day Sherlock Holmes of porn and a quite incredible young man, as a researcher you are second to none, the audience will indeed find that out as your blog progresses. Rbt

Great stuff gav, really enjoyed this blog. Partial to some (late?) Sonia Svenberger so enjoyed the CPWM photos, which I hadn't seen before.

Gav, you posted a review on of "West End Jungle" on a cult movie site. One of the cast members is Terry James. Any idea who that person is? I'm wondering if there's a chance he's the same Terry James who was a composer, friend of Richard Harris, probably born in Wales -- would have been in his 20s when "West End Jungle" was made. Sorry for such an obscure question, but your research skills seem to be unequaled. thx, Jack jhailey@hotmail.com

I´m writing a book about British horror for Auteur Press and am trying to track down a quote you use from Cinema X - ´One thing Robert Hartford-Davis can do. He can sure make a corpse look sexy`

Is there any chance you´d know what issue that was in?

I´d appreciate if you could let me go and it goes without saying you´d get a thanks in the book and a free copy.
